Daily declarations for families are short, Bible-based statements that parents and children speak aloud together each day. Below is a printable list for mornings, school, meals, bedtime and your home, with the verse behind each one.

These declarations are not a magic routine. They are a warm, simple way to fill your home with God's truth. Over time, the words your children hear at home often become the words they say to themselves.

Why speak declarations as a family?

God has always intended faith to be passed on at home. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (NKJV) says, "And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up."

Notice the everyday moments: sitting at home, walking, lying down and getting up. That is the rhythm of family life. Declarations fit beautifully into those moments.

Speaking truth together helps children:

  • Learn simple Bible truths by heart.
  • Feel secure in God's love and in your love.
  • Have words to use when they feel scared, sad or unsure.
  • See that faith is part of normal life, not just a Sunday thing.

If you are new to the idea, our article What Are Biblical Declarations? explains what they are and what they are not.

How to start

  • Keep it short. Choose two or three declarations, not twenty.
  • Attach it to something you already do. Breakfast, the school run and bedtime are natural anchors.
  • Let the kids lead. Children love to read, point or say the line first.
  • Make it fun. Use actions, whisper and shout, or let a younger child echo an older one.
  • Stay relaxed. If you miss a day, just pick it up again tomorrow.

Making it work at different ages

Little ones (2 to 5)

Use one short line and a simple action. For example, hug yourself while saying "God loves me." Repeat the same few lines for weeks. Little ones love repetition.

Primary school kids (6 to 12)

Let them choose the declaration of the day. Ask them to find the verse in a children's Bible. Ask, "What do you think that means?"

Teenagers

Invite rather than require. Teens often respond better to a text message than a family circle. Try sending one short declaration before an exam or a big game. Above all, let them see that you live it.

A word for parents

You do not have to feel like a spiritual expert to lead your family in this. You are not trying to perform. You are simply speaking God's goodness over the people you love most. Some days you will say the words with joy. Other days you will say them tired, distracted or still a little cross after a busy morning. God honours both. Your children are learning that faith is real in ordinary life, and that is a precious gift.

When life is hard

Some days, declarations will feel easy. On other days, your family may be grieving, sick or stressed. On those days, it is fine to be honest. You might say, "We feel sad today. And God is still close to us" (Psalm 34:18). Declarations are not about pretending. They are about holding on to God together.

A family declaration

Say this together, perhaps with everyone holding hands.

We are a family that belongs to God. Jesus is the centre of our home. We are loved, forgiven and safe in His care. We choose kindness and forgiveness. We are blessed to be a blessing. As for us and our house, we will serve the Lord.

Common questions

At what age can children start saying declarations?

Even toddlers can repeat short phrases like 'God loves me.' Start simple and let the words grow as your children grow.

What if my teenager does not want to join in?

Do not force it. Keep speaking blessing and truth over them yourself, invite them without pressure, and let them see the practice is real in your own life.

How long should family declarations take?

Two or three minutes is plenty. A short, happy habit you keep is far better than a long one you give up on.
