This policy explains how Rhythm Church Limited (ABN 63 628 235 692) and Rhythm Initiative Limited (ABN 94 645 685 230), together "Rhythm", "we" or "us", collect, use and protect your personal information. We aim to follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Contact details you give us, such as your name, email, phone number and suburb.
- Information you share in forms, such as a plan-a-visit form, a prayer request, a Connect Group enquiry or a volunteer application.
- Children's details that parents or carers give us at kids check-in, such as names, ages, allergies and medical needs.
- Donation details. Card payments are handled by our payment providers (Tithe.ly, Stripe and GiveWP). We do not store full card numbers.
- Website usage information, collected through cookies and Google Analytics. This includes pages visited and general location. It does not identify you personally.
- Advertising measurement. We use free Google Ads under the Google Ad Grants program for charities. Google Analytics and Google Ads may record that you arrived from one of our ads and whether you then used a form or tapped to call. This helps us see which ads help people, and does not identify you personally.
How we use it
- To welcome you, answer your questions and follow up when you ask us to.
- To care for you, including praying for you if you ask.
- To keep children safe and contact parents or carers when needed.
- To process donations and issue receipts.
- To send updates you have agreed to receive. You can opt out at any time.
- To understand how our website is used, so we can improve it.
Where it is stored
We store information in our church management system (Elvanto), our website, our email systems, Google Analytics and Google Ads, and with our payment providers (Tithe.ly, Stripe and GiveWP). Some of these providers may store data outside Australia. Access is limited to staff and trusted volunteers who need it.
Sharing
We do not sell your information. We only share it when you ask us to, when we must by law, or when it is needed to keep someone safe.
Prayer requests
Prayer requests are kept confidential to our pastoral and prayer team unless you tell us we can share them.
Access and correction
You can ask to see or correct the information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handled your information, please contact us first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
